Privacy Policy

Who do we collect your personal information from?
We generally collect your personal information only from you. We will not collect your personal information from another source unless getting the information from you would undermine the purpose of collection or a public sector body needs to uphold or enforce the law or we have your permission to collect information from someone else.

If you provide us with personal information about another person then you are responsible for ensuring you have authority to do so and that the person consents to our collection and use of their personal information.

What personal information do we collect and what purposes is this used for?
PillDrop Pharmacy will collect certain personal information about you and your pet for the purpose of dispensing, and carry out the functions of a pharmacy as required by law. This may include your name, your pet’s name, date of birth, address, veterinarian details and medication history. 

PillDrop Pharmacy will collect information according to the Health information Privacy Code (HIPC) to carry out all functions of a pharmacy, including dispensing in a safe manner. The information will be retained by us for the purpose of providing pharmacy service to you and your pet. This includes repeats dispensing and request new prescriptions. The information must be provided by you in order for you to use our Digital Pharmacy Experience provided by PillDrop Pharmacy.

Do I have to provide personal information?
You may choose not to provide your personal information. However if you do not agree to provide information to us in order for us to carry out a safe dispensing process as a pharmacy and other purposes outlined above, you will not be able to use our service.

Storing your personal information
PillDrop Pharmacy will take reasonable step to securely hold your information and to keep your personal information safe from loss, unauthorized activity, or other misuse. PillDrop Pharmacy will hold your personal information in its storage facilities with cloud providers. Our cloud based software is developed in accordance with the Health information Security Framework HISO guidelines outlined by Ministry of Health.

Disclosing your personal information
We may disclose you and your pet's personal information to your pet' Veterinarian, authorized third party service providers to assist us in providing goods or services to you, our assignees or potential assignees, governmental agencies or law enforcement agencies if required by law.

We will not disclose your personal information to marketing companies.

Accessing and correcting your personal information
Subject to certain grounds for refusal set out in the Privacy Act 1993, you have the right to access your personal information that we hold and to request a correction to your personal information. Before you exercise this right, we will need evidence to confirm that you are the individual to whom the personal information relates.

To access and/or correct you and your pet's personal information please email us at vet@pilldroppets.co.nz. Your email should provide evidence of who you are and set out the details of your request (e.g. the personal information, or the correction, that you are requesting). We may charge you our reasonable costs of providing to you copies of your personal information or correcting that information.

Limitation of Liability and Indemnity
To the fullest extent legally permissible, the total liability of PillDrop Pharmacy, its officers, employees and agents arising from or in relation to these Terms and to the supply of goods and services will be limited to the total amount paid by you for the goods and services giving rise to the claim for liability.

You agree to indemnify and hold Pilldrop Pharmacy, and its directors, officers, employees and agents harmless from any loss, liability, cost or expense relating to your breach of these Terms.


Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be illegal or unenforceable, then it shall be deleted or else limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remainder shall remain and have full force and effect.

Applicable Law
These Terms will be governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
